About Me

As a devoted lover of escaping reality I always have a book in hand, reading aloud on my phone, or taking shape on my laptop.

Every person has a story to tell, and my life’s passion lies in fine-tuning words into works of art by creating a nurturing editing space for authors to prosper and shine.

With every project, my intention is to help you reach your fullest potential, while staying true to your vision and creative voice, to give you the best chance at publishing whether through traditional or self-publishing.

Services

Why should you hire an editor?

So, you’re on the fence about hiring an editor. What are the benefits and are they really worth the extra time, money, and effort?

Editing is as much about refining your individual manuscripts as it is learning about your writing habits, strengths, and weaknesses. An editor helps unearth elements of your writing style that you may not be aware of and can implement for future projects.

Maybe your strengths align with crafting rich, detailed characters but your scenes lack context and colourful imagery. Structural editing will be your best friend. Perhaps you are a wiz at prose but struggle to capture natural dialogue. A line edit could be your birthday gift to yourself (you definitely deserve it).

My services are tailored to suit client needs, and I am happy to answer any and all questions about what level of editing your manuscript would best benefit from.

Because it is important to me that you feel your manuscript is safe and secure in my hands, I offer a free 1000 word/5 page edit sample. This ensures that you, my friend, are confident in my skills, and comfortable with my communication style.

Once I have had a squiz at your manuscript, I will also be able to offer an estimated turnaround time and accurate quote for my services. You can often expect, for a 60-80k manuscript, to be around two weeks.

Reviews

It is always a huge help to receive feedback. Here is what some of my authors have had to say about Paris’ Editing and Proofreading

In all aspects, Paris's work is impeccable. Her technical skills are emphatically upon display, bringing refinement and precision to a work to elevate it to the next level and beyond. She pushes an author to be not simply better, but the best version of themselves in their work, and it is utterly rewarding.

But with that said, what I value most is how much of a joy she is to work with. Beyond her overwhelming enthusiasm for her profession, she has an energy that is absolutely captivating, and a consideration for her clients that is both heartwarming and incredibly welcome. I not only recommend her on every level, I could think of no one else I would want more to work with again and again.

Absolutely recommend. A full five stars, not only for her but the work she shall help you create.
As a first-time author, the thought of going through the editing process was a daunting one. But Paris was fantastic to work with, every step of the way. She was quick to pick up the themes and style of my writing, and showed a keen, genuine interest in the story, asking plenty of questions and working with me to further refine my vision for the novel. Stars Apart wouldn't be the book it is today without her help.
What a gift your impressions are, Paris. I feel quite emotionally overwhelmed by your summation and that feeling hasn’t dwindled with multiple readings. All writing is vulnerable but this story is particularly for me because there’s so much of myself in it. Relief and joy has been a heady mix while reading your words. I am immensely grateful on so many levels – for your keen editor’s eye but also for the depth with which you have felt and understood the story. And then, of course, the obvious care you took in crafting this review – in itself a masterpiece of writing. “Thank you” feels inadequate for what you’ve given me. A thousand thank-yous, still not quite enough.
